After School Club

Woodland Explorers
After School Club

For Bury Grammar School pupils
We run after school clubs at Bury Grammar's Forest School site on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We provide the space for children to play, explore and reflect in the woodland.

At CommuniTree, we facilitate a nurturing and safe environment for children to play, explore and take risks at their own pace and rhythm.

No two days are the same at Woodland Explorers as we encourage children to follow their own passions and interests.

Through hands-on outdoor play, children develop confidence, self-esteem and resilience.

Activities include:

  • Den building
  • Tree climbing
  • Foraging and cooking
  • Story-telling and music
  • Crafting with tools
  • Playing in the mud kitchen
  • Woodland unstructured play

  • Weather conditions

Our forest holiday club is fully outdoors in rain, snow or shine!

For days where there is heavy rain, we will put a tarp over the fire circle to provide shelter.

Children spending time outdoors in all weathers:

    • develops resilience
    • develops  a connection with nature in all seasons
    • supports mental heath and wellbeing

Due to safety precautions and the level of risk, we are required to leave site if wind gusts are more than 40mph.  On these occasions, we have access to an indoor space.
