We aim to make our forest holiday clubs as accessible as possible.

Due to our staff to child ratios of 1:8, we are unable to provide the required care for children with a 1:1 at school. 

Our activities are suitable for children who:

• are able to understand and follow our safety rules (for example: fire safety, staying inside the boundaries) 
• are able to go to the toilet unassisted 
• are able to eat their lunch without direct support

Our forest holiday club is fully outdoors in rain, snow or shine! 

For days where there is heavy rain, we will put a tarp over the fire circle to provide shelter.

Children spending time outdoors in all weathers:

• develops resilience
• develops  a connection with nature in all seasons
• supports mental heath and wellbeing

Due to safety precautions and the level of risk, we are required to leave site if wind gusts are more than 40mph.  On these occasions, we  will try to arrange an alternative  indoor space, if awe are unable to access an indoor space, we will need to cancel the session and aim to give you 24 hours notice. 

Please check the weather forecast daily and make sure your child is dressed for the weather!

What to wear 

• Warm removable layers
• Waterproof over layer or an all in one suit
• Wellies/walking boots
• Sun hat and sun cream (hot days)
• Warm hat and gloves (cold days

What to bring

• Small personal hand towel
• Two pairs of spare socks
• Spare change of clothes including a jumper/fleece
• Plastic bag
• Refillable water bottle
• Packed lunch - no nut products, no glass containers

Waterproof bag - put all belongings in one bag labelled with the child's full name

Mobile phones/ smart watches are not allowed - please leave these at home

All CommuniTree staff are enhanced DBS checked and completed our safe recruitment process.

Site checks are completed daily and and we conduct dynamic risk assessments.

We have designated staff who are outdoor first aid certified.

Food and hygiene 

All staff are level 2 trained in food and hygiene.

Toilet facilities and hand-washing 

Enclosed camping toilet is provided with handwash, hand sanitiser and water.
